Keeping Your Comforter Clean

You use your comforter every day, but how often should you wash it?  Cleaning specifications for your comforter differ from those of your bed sheets because they are rarely directly in contact with your body.  White Way

Your comforter is still exposed to dust mites, pet hair, and other allergens and should be washed at least once a month to keep it clean.  If your bed’s comforter is exposed to germs from illnesses, bodily fluids or is coated with pet hair, you may wash it more than once a month.  Be sure to acknowledge the specific cleaning directions on your comforter’s tag to avoid color loss and shrinkage.

 White Way

Keep your comforter clean in between washings by protecting it with a duvet cover. When the cover needs a cleaning, it will easily fit, just like bed linens, into a household washing machine.
